Artsline

Disability Access Information Service

Fundraising

We have a dedicated team of staff and trustees that meet every Friday to discuss every possible avenue to seek funding.

We have sought 3 year funding currently for the post of Chief Executive Officer from the Henry Smith Trust; we have funding from the City Parochial Foundation for part funding of the new post of Youth Arts Project Co-ordinator who will set up and organise our film making workshops for young disabled people in partnership with LDAF and hope to obtain funding for the same project from the Platinum Trust and the Esmee Fairbairn Trust; we are seeking funding for a part-time Access officer post from the Grand Charity of Freemasons and we obtained as well funding from the Bruce Wake Charitable Trust to pay for a Freelance Programmer to completely redesign our website and database. Our fund raising activities include seeking funds to subsidise our marketing and relaunch campaign.

We were funded by the Cinema Exhibitors Association this year to compile and host an access database for all cinemas in the UK and Ireland. And with 4 other organisations through the London Civic Forum we are seeking London Development Association funding to provide, in our case, training and advice to the Olympic and Paralympic Games organisers on access and disability training, and to the firms providing facilities at venues, their staff, and other personnel.

We are ever mindful of the need to find core funding as we are not now funded by the Arts Council of England or Local Councils (formerly ALG) but with our usual dedication and enthusiasm and the respect in which we are held for our excellent service we are sure we will obtain that necessary funding in 2007 and the years to follow. The voluntary sector is indeed facing, in this country, immense difficulties arising from cuts in funding by local authorities and by the main national and regional funders and many have disappeared due to lack of funding taking with them their expertise and skills.

Artsline is determined that its excellent and unique service will continue onwards and upwards and to that end we will seek funding continuously as we do now. We deserve it.
