In Search of Lost Time, an exhibition of work by artists from across the Gulf region, will go on show at London’s Brunei Gallery in January 2016. The exhibition, commissioned by the British Council in association with Brunei Gallery, will give UK audiences the opportunity to view work by a range of established and emerging artists from countries including Saudi Arabia,Bahrain, Kuwait and UAE, many of whom will be new to British audiences. One of the principal aims of the show is to provoke discussion of the role of art and culture in the region. The exhibition is jointly curated by Amal Khalaf, Abed Al Kadiri and Abdulnasser Gharem – from Bahrain, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, respectively – and is the culmination of four years of cultural exchange between artists in the UK and the Gulf. The exhibition will include works from the following artists: Rajaa Khalid, Jafar Islah, Sami Mohammed, Ahmed Mater, Abdalla AlSaadi, Ajlan Gharem, Camille Zakharia , Mohammed Kazem , Hassan Sharif, Sophia Al Maria, Monira Al Qadiri, Lantian Xie, Mohammed Sharaf, Shaweesh.
