Type of event Exhibition
Dates 27 January 2012
Time 19:00
Description Svein Flygari Johansen Am I making up what really happened?
Artists Talk at 7pm
with Svein Flygari Johansen and Jonny Bradley

Investigating themes of indigenous culture, capitalist meltdown, patriotism and global politics, influential Norwegian artist Svein Flygari Johansen connects imagery from the organic world with high technology: Materials range from water, sticks and stones, Ammonium Sulphate and bacteria to sophisticated computer programming.

The artist’s talk will unpack the technology behind the works in our current exhibition Am I making up what really happened? Svein Flygari Johansen is joined by long time technical collaborator Jonny Bradley. Code for all Flygari's digital works is written by Jonny Bradley with exhibition robotics by David Buckley.

Svein Flygari Johansen: Am I making up what really happened? will be open for the evening viewing from 6-9pm. The exhibition is on show at Beaconsfield until 12 February 2012.

Bankside Afterparty
Beaconsfield hosts the January Bankside Afterparty till late
With live performance from Metamono at 9pm

Metamono’s technopop combine’s the art house with the mosh pit, making purely electronic music which rejects digital technology. Their instinctive, improvised compositions are created using a selection of pre-used, borrowed and handbuilt vintage analogue synths and ring modulators, enhanced by the ethereal sounds of a theremin, a siren and a valve radio.

Following the release of their new record on 23 January, Metamono will join us for an intimate performance. Look out for the upcoming review in MOJO. http://www.metamono.co.uk/
